Marching Band Cookies & Cake

One of the band directors at my sister's school is leaving, and I was volunteered to make the going-away cake. It's a yellow cake with Italian buttercream frosting (seriously one of the best things ever), decorated with rosebuds (which I learned in my Wilton class!) swags and shells. There's also some cornelli lace going on, which makes the cake a little more interesting

And I also made 108 cookies for all of the band members, which took a lot of work, but they look nice. I designed them after the band's uniforms. Thankfully it was only 3 colors and I got them all done in one night.

Sometimes, I think I work too hard.

Ninja Turtle

Short post today! Remember those ninja cookies I made a few weeks ago? Well I made a ninja turtle, too, just to be cute and witty. There was another cookie that looked like Raphael, but my sister ate him before I could take a picture.

Ninjabread Cookies

I made ninja cookies! These sneaky little guys have been on my to-do list since I bought the cookie cutters back in March. But this week I finally got around to making them.

I'm so excited about them, probably because I'm a nerd and I think ninjas are cool. And also cute. And delicious. In fact, I'm about to make a second batch right now. These guys have this wily habit of disappearing...

These cookies won't last very long...

But as my little brother said, "You can't be sneaky when eating ninja cookies!" Unfortunately using all the black icing gel to make the royal icing has the adverse effect of turning your teeth black too. :( But just wash the cookies down with a tall glass of milk!
