Very cute milk and cookies mini cupcakes from Baked by Melissa, this month only

I checked out the new flavor of the month at mini cupcake bakery Baked by Melissa in New York, at their Union Square location. This cute cookie-studded cupcake is very sweet, and tastes indeed like milk, but like milk after your sugar cereal has been sitting in it for a long time. And the cake is the whitest cake I've ever seen. This works in mini form, but I think would be too much in a bigger cupcake. I've found that their special limited edition month-long flavors are usually my favorites. And they're only $1 each (cheaper if you buy more). Jammie Dodger cupcakes

These Jammie Dodger cupcakes are blogger Cat of Cats Cupcakes, who writes:

I used my favourite, fail safe vanilla cupcake recipe from the Love Bakery book (honestly, it works fantastically well every time!) and then hollowed out the centre of each cake with an apple corer. I then filled the centre with smooth raspberry jam. The cupcakes were topped with vanilla butter cream that was swirled with raspberry jam, a sprinkling of shortbread and a mini jammie dodger.

I made these owl cupcakes for my dad's birthday last weekend. He collects owls (we're talking like 100X as many owls as I have Hello Kitties!) Anyway, these are chocolate cupcakes with dark chocolate frosting, Oreo cookies for eyes and ears, Junior Mint eyeballs, and banana Runts for beaks. I used a patriotic cupcake paper with red and blue stars since it was 4th of July weekend :)
