Singer Adele to bake and give out cupcakes on tour!

Two things I adore are coming together in the form of Adele's upcoming tour! If you've got a photo of those Adele cupcakes, we'd love to blog it (with credit); write us at cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com. Via Monsters and Critics:

Adele told VEVO's ASK:REPLY: 'When I was on my big American tour bakeries used to send me cupcakes with my face on it.

'When I'm on tour I'm going to bake lots and give them out.'

The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker added: 'I won't sell them because I don't think they're that good.

'But they are good!'

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice makes "Holy Cannoli" cupcakes at cookbook signing

From Patch.com:

Fans lined up around the block, and the large crowd was directed by Verona Police as well as private security people retained by the bakery.

During the signing, DiPaolo was in the kitchen preparing countless batches of "Holy Cannoli" cupcakes, which the bakery gave out in pairs to the assembled fans. When asked how many free cupcakes were given away in total, DiPaolo said he lost track after 650 boxes. The bakery even raffled off a fondant cake, valued at $500, to one lucky winner.

The recipe, he said, was borrowed from Giudice's cookbook, and consists of white cake stuffed with and topped with cocoa-infused cannoli cream.

I'll look into getting more info on whether there's other cupcakes in the book and maybe the recipe to repost! You can order Fabulicious!: Teresa's Italian Family Cookbook from Amazon or wherever books are sold.

Lauren Conrad wants to open a cupcake bakery

Who knows if this is true, but if she did, it'd be interesting, at the very least.

From The Inquisitr:

Former The Hills star Lauren Conrad left the show that made her famous to become a respected fashion designer and bestselling novelist and now rumor has it that she’ll be adding “bakery owner” to her list of hidden talents.

Apparently Conrad loves to bake everything from cookies to cakes and various other sugary snacks and now she’s thinking it would be a great time to add a posh bakery with an emphasis on specialty gourmet cupcakes to the mix of businesses she currently owns.

Hollywood snitch Janet Charlton writes of the endeavor:

“…She’s looking at locations in the West Hollywood area where she can open a bakery of her own.”

Hey Lauren, if by chance you're reading this, we'd love to interview you about your favorite cupcakes! Write us at cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com and I for one hope this happens. Can you imagine all the celebs who'd be stopping by?

Tori Spelling calls cupcakes "the perfect food" and endorses eating cupcake sandwiches

I'm a big Tori Spelling fan, so I love that she's so into cupcakes! In this post, "Have Your Cupcake and Eat It Too," at her lifestyle site ediTORIal, she extols the joys of cupcake sandwiches and cake posts and writes:

Cupcakes are God’s gift to kids (and kids at heart). I mean they really are the perfect food, no matter how big your appetite may be. Want a bite-sized treat? Easy! Need a fix that’s bigger than your face? Just put Sprinkles on speed dial.

But there’s a dirty little secret about cupcakes. We’ve all been guilty - yes, me too. It’s the cupcake bottom. I’m admitting it now; I always, always waste the cupcake bottom. It’s just so boring! And my kids are the same way. They peel the top off the cupcake and eat it, because (duh) that’s the part with the frosting. Then they leave the sad little cupcake bottom alone on the picnic table, only to grow stale before meeting its fate in the trashcan.

Ok, maybe cupcakes don’t have feelings, but you know what I mean – waste is bad! So how do we get our kids (and inner kid) to eat the whole cupcake?

Here's what she's come up with:

Mayor Cupcake out on DVD July 19!

Good news: the DVD of the film Mayor Cupcake starring Lea Thompson and Judd Nelson comes out next week (July 19)! My friend Noah (who often gives out cupcakes at his NYC trivia night Big Quiz Thing) gave me a copy. I will be watching it soon and sharing my thoughts here.

Official description:

Mary Maroni is a loving wife, a caring mother of three, and Bridgestones finest cupcake baker. Her simple life becomes a lot more complicated when her daughter secretly nominates her to run for mayor. Before she can react, a unfortunate accident involving the incumbent mayor sends her straight into office. With the love and support of her family to guide her, it is up to Mary to prove that she has the right ingredients to clean up the town. All rise for Mayor Cupcake!

More from Blockbuster.com:

An uneducated, small town baker is catapulted into the mayor's office after the incumbent mayor experiences a debilitating accident. Bridgestone cupcake maker Mary Maroni (Lea Thompson) is a successful businesswoman, and a happy homemaker. The mother of three children, Mary finds her already-busy routine shaken up considerable after her daughter quietly nominates her for the office of mayor. As fate would have it, the current mayor quickly becomes unfit to serve, leaving the position wide open for the reluctant newcomer. Later, just when Mary starts to sense that she's gotten in over her head, she learns that no problem is too big when your loved ones are there to offer a helping hand. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
