Cupcake truck Cupcakory hits Boston with salted caramel, lemon coconut, Creamsicle cupcakes and more

Cupcakory is a new cupcake truck roaming Boston, Massachusetts! Yay food trucks. Follow them @Cupcakory on Twitter and on Facebook (where you can see more photos of their cupcakes) for the latest news, and you can also reach them at info at cupcakory.com or 857-225-3011.

Today's update: "Here at BU till 3 with salted caramel, lemon coconut, Creamsicle, lemon on vanilla"

Weekly schedule (but check their social media to be sure):

Tuesdays & Thursdays BU, 602 Comm Ave outside Morse Auditorium
Wednesdays Back Bay, corner of Stuart & Trinity Place near John Hancock
Fridays: Northeastern, corner of Heminway & Forsyth

From Northeastern University News:

The sweet treat on wheels – which joins the ranks of a handful of other food trucks popping up in Boston – also makes stops in Back Bay and on Boston University’s campus.

“My dream is to make as much money selling cupcakes as I did in publishing,” said DeMarco, who bakes the tiny desserts with locally sourced and organic ingredients in a community kitchen in Jamaica Plain. "I've baked my entire adult life," she added, "but i don't like to cook."

Last Friday, Cupcakory drew a small crowd of foodies. Customers loved the rich selection, which included salted caramel on chocolate cake and chocolate frosting on vanilla cake. A half-dozen cupcakes go for $16.50.

A few weeks ago, The Boston Globe ran a story about a new food truck initiative in Boston, whereby food trucks would claim permanent locations:

On Tuesday, Mayor Thomas M. Menino announced that "food trucks are ready to serve 'wicked good food' on Boston’s streets with 15 new permanent locations in several neighborhoods." The announcement said that the food trucks would rotate between locations in the Back Bay, South End, Fenway/Kenmore, and other neighborhoods starting July 13, 2011.

Bowling cupcakes and cake pops by 1 Fine Cookie!

One of our favorite food blogs, 1 Fine Cookie, has done it again. Click here to read all about their bowling adventures! I love that these cupcakes and cake pops were made for a custom birthday order and a lot of thought and care were truly put into them (love the dragees on the bowling ball and the little initials!). Photos via Flickr. From the post:

I created bowling shoes, bowling pins and bowling ball cookies as toppers on the cupcakes.

Everything in red and blue, Carl and Mike’s favorite colors.

The frosting on the cupcakes was the biggest hit there.

I use a secret recipe that tastes unlike any frosting out there.

Read more at 1 Fine Cookie. I think I want to hire them to make my birthday cupcakes (in November) so I can taste this secret recipe for myself!

Until this post, I hadn't realized she does custom orders, but she does, in Massachusetts! Click here for ordering information, here's some more detail:

Pricing: 1 Fine Cookie is dedicated to creating what the customer dreams of having. Because all orders are custom-made, there is no set price. Typically, most cookies start at around $3.00 each, pops start at $2.75 each, and cupcakes start at about $2.50 each. Minimum quantity is 24 per baked good order. Please contact with your specific idea and quantity, and we will work with you to find what best suits your needs.

Last minute order? Order must be placed 2 weeks prior to delivery or pick-up date. 1 Fine Cookie may accept last minute orders on a case by case basis. Simply contact us and we will see if we can fit you in to our best ability.

Cake pop flavors include vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, brownie, cookie dough, sugar cookie and funfetti! Click above for cupcake flavors.

You can also follow 1 Fine Cookie on Facebook, as well as @1FineCookie on Twitter and also on Tumblr.

Martha's Vineyard red, white and blue (and coconut!) cupcakes

I'm visiting Martha's Vineyard in a few weeks and am excited to return to Sweet E's Cupcakes and treat my family to their deliciousness. Here are a few cupcakes from their Facebook wall photos, including how they celebrated July 4th (their red is more like red and pink, but I don't mind). They have two locations, 18 Main Street in Vineyard Haven and 6 Water Street in Edgartown! Respective phone numbers: 508-693-6400 and 508-627-7578.
