What's Your Favorite Cocoa Powder?
Recently, I noticed that one of our most popular posts is one about a chocolate cupcake recipe. That got me thinking about which cocoa powder is the favorite of bakers. I created a survey, so vote up your favorite cocoa powder. Feel free to add comments below.

Chocolate-covered cherry chocolate cupcakes!
These fun, adorable chocolate-covered cherry chocolate cupcakes are from blogger Confections of a Foodie Bride. She's got the recipe(s) and writes:
Chocolate Cake – I’ve flip-flopped over the last few years on a favorite chocolate cake recipe. I’ve been torn between America’s Test Kitchen’s Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake and Martha Stewart’s Devil’s Food Cake. But with this last batch of cupcakes, I think it’s finally settled. Martha’s recipe is fluffy, moist, and gets a big dose of deep chocolatey flavor from dutch-process cocoa. To me, it’s the perfect chocolate cake.

I bet you've never seen a cupcake with this flavor before!
Can you guess?

If I knew how to do a jump cut I'd make you truly guess, but I'm not that HTML savvy.
It's a...chocolate BBQ cupcake with honey sour cream frosting! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that would be a tough one to guess. You can get the recipe for it at food blog a perfect kind of day, where there are also lots of other cupcake posts.
From the post:
The cake is tangy and savory and not at all sweet. However, it seems that the longer the life of the cupcake, the lesser the barbecue sauce taste. The cupcake I tried fresh out of the oven tasted like a fresh slab of ribs {and i'm not kidding...}, but the cupcake I had later on that night {willpower doesn't exist on labor day} just tasted like a bittersweet chocolate cake.
The frosting is very tart and sweet at the same time. I wanted to make something that worked with the savory flavor of the barbecue sauce, not something that out-sweetened it. I did like the frosting with the cake, but in an effort to showcase the flavor of the cake a bit more next time, I might stick with a more basic chocolate frosting...
Yay for truly original cupcake flavors and experiments!

Cupcake Espresso now open in Newcastle, New South Wales
Another cupcake bakery opens! This one is in Newcastle, New South Wales, and here's more info from Newcastle Herald:
Nathan Wicken and partner Adriana Daley opened Cupcake Espresso last Tuesday
‘‘We figured there was a market for this in Newcastle,’’ Wicken, a trained chef, told GT.
‘‘A lot of the cafes that have opened in the area recently didn’t necessarily specialise in anything specific, so we thought that the cupcakes in particular could be our point of difference.
‘‘We wanted to be a specialty shop, limit ourselves to a couple of elements and hone in on those rather than spread ourselves toothin.
‘‘We think this area has a lot to offer, and I think it’s just going to get better and better around here.’’
The couple had seen how successful cupcake stores had already been in Melbourne and Sydney, and didn’t see why the concept wouldn’t work in Newcastle, too. However, cupcakes aren’t the only thing on the menu.
There is also a range of macarons available, as well as pre-made sourdough sandwiches, pastas and take-home meals.
And some photos and descriptions from their Facebook page:

Turkish Delight - Choc mud cake with turkish delight choc ganache topped with turkish delight and rose persian fairy floss

Espresso - Choc mud cake with espresso ganache centre and espresso buttercream frosting topped with choc coffee bean

Amaretto Cherry - Amaretto cherry cake with amaretto cherry frosting topped with a maraschino cherry

Chocolate - Choc mud cake & choc ganache

Peppermint Choc - Choc mud cake with peppermint frosting and mint choc ganache drizzle

Hot fudge cupcakes you eat with a spoon!
These hot fudge cupcakes are from the blog Krissy's Creations, where you can get the recipe. She writes:
The frosting I used for this cake is my new favorite buttercream. I am making that buttercream for a lot of my new desserts. I love it! The texture is perfect, and the sweetness to buttery ratio is just right. I frosted the cupcakes to make the frosting look like ice cream. Sort of like a hot fudge sundae. If you really want to make these like hot fudge sundae cupcakes, you can make a whipped cream frosting instead of buttercream, and then add a cherry on top. And maybe some nuts :).
